Like most Apple Fanboys, I watched the unveiling of the new Apple Watch with my tongue hanging out. I can't wait to get my hands on one when they are released. During the demonstration they talked about dozens of different applications that the Apple Watch could be used for but they never mentioned gambling. Does anyone know if there will be sports betting or casino apps available for Apple Watch or will they ban them like they did when the iPhone was first released?

UPDATED: A couple of brand new Apple Watch betting apps have now been released. The William Hill Apple Watch software let you place bets and check odds directly from the iWatch. The new Coral Apple Watch app is even more sophisticated and supports betting, cash-outs, alerts, news, odds updates and more from the Apple wearable device.

List of bookmakers that offer Apple Watch apps...

CORAL APPLE WATCH - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

WILLIAM HILL APPLE WATCH - WWW.WILLIAMHILL.COM

Ladbrokes have an Apple Watch betting app but it's currently only available in Australia. The Unibet Apple Watch app currently just provides betting odds and news.

They didn't mention anything about gambling in the launch of the Apple iWatch thing. Google have banned gambling apps for Google Glass but Apple will probably follow the same policy that they do with the iPhone and iPad and only permit them in certain countries. These means there probably won't be any sports betting or casino apps for Apple Watch in the United States in the foreseeable future.

i wonder will there be web apps for the apple phone that don't require an install? i live in the u.s. so the only way i can gamble on my iphone and ipad is by playing via the browser.

I think Apple will bow to demand in the end. If wearable gambling takes off on Android watches or Google Glass then Apple will be forced to allow sports betting or casino apps on their Apple Watch.

Many are predicting that Google Glass is dead and that Google will shortly kill their wearable gadget.

Does anyone know if you'll be able to set-up notifications on Apple Watch to notify me when a particular horse is running or when a certain team is playing?

Since you'll need an iPhone to use the Apple Watch, it should be pretty straightforward for internet sportsbooks to link up their iPhone/iPad apps with the Apple Watch.

I predict that Apple Watch betting apps with soon use geo-location to display the betting odds for any football game or race meeting that your are attending.

cash-out seems to be the latest feature that most of the major online bookies are advertising. basically you can close your bet early in return for a fraction of your possible winning bet. i'm pretty sure that the apple watch will soon display a live score of every game or horse race you've gambled on along with a cash-out button that will let you cut your losses at any point.

The brand new William Hill Apple Watch apps lets you place bets, view odds and see a summary of the days "Top Bets" on your wearable device.

Unibet, who are one of the latest internet bookmakers in Belgium, Finland, Sweden and Norway, have released Apple Watch compatible software but unfortunately right now it only provide sports results and betting odds. Fans of horse racing can view race cards and check the racing form from the Unibet iWatch.

apple revealed that the next version of the apple watch operating system will allow short videos. it would be bookmaker if bookmakers could add clips of goals in soccer matches to their apple watch apps.

Video would be great but with the current battery life of the Apple Watch I'm not sure how practical that would be. Hopefully the next edition of the Apple Watch will come with a greatly improved battery also.

DraftKings, who are the biggest fantasy sports betting site in the United State, have recently launched the DraftKings Apple Watch app. The new DraftKings Apple Watch app lets you see at a glance how your fantasy players are performing and check how you are performing in each competition. You can also see how much you've won (or not won) on each competition.

i'm really surprised those apps haven't been removed by apple following the banning of fantasy gambling in new york.

All iOS apps use geo-location blocking. If you try to launch then in states like Maryland, New Jersey or New York, I can only presume they won't work.

Coral bookmakers in the UK no longer offer an Apple Watch sports betting app.
