BetOnline are one of the biggest and most trusted U.S. facing poker rooms and sportsbooks. When they added bitcoin support earlier this year many of their US-based customers were overjoyed because it meant that they no longer had to worry about their credit card getting rejected and they no longer had to cash dodgy checks from some shell companies in Africa. Their joy wash short lived, however, because BetOnline continued to charge their standard 6.5% credit card deposit fee. BetOnline claimed that this fee was charged to them by their payment processor so it was out of their control. This left a bad taste in many sports bettors mouths because other U.S. bookmakers like 5Dimes and Bovada were charging zero fees for crypto-currency deposits.

Thankfully after much complaining by BetOnline customers on various forums, the company seems to have finally listened and they have removed all deposit fees for BTC. This means that punters who use bitcoin to wager have 6.5% more to gamble with than those who opt to use Mastercard or Visa.

It's hard to believe they ever thought that they could get away with charging 6.5% to make a deposit with cryptocurrency. The whole point of crypto is that it is supposed to be cheaper than using MasterCard and Visa. They also save a huge amount of money with bitcoin because they don't need to setup fake companies to hide their activities from banks in the United States who are not allowed to process withdrawals from US based gamblers.
