Paddy-Power have just updated their iPhone and iPad apps to allow their customers to watch live streams of every horse race from South Africa, South America and Dubai on their smartphone or tablet. Paddy Power mobile customers could already watch every single race from race courses in the United Kingdom and Ireland. To watch any race live on your iPhone, you just need to place a qualifying £1 bet on a particular race and a live broadcast will be made available 5 minutes before the off.

No, unfortunately PP don't offer a monthly subscription although you can pay about £10 a month to Racing UK to watch live racing from the 33 racecourses in the UK that they have broadcasting rights for. Here is a link to their free iPhone and Android apps. Even if you don't stump up for the monthly subscription, the app is still brilliant for racing form, betting tips, form guides and news.

It often amazes me how many racing punters who use the Paddy-Power app but don't know they can also watch a free live stream of any race they place a bet on. Paddy Power have also launched a text betting app called Paddy Power Messenger that makes betting on horse races really quickly and easy. Rather than having to search for a particular horse race on their website or betting app, you can instead just text your bet. For instance, if you wanted to put £20 on Oscar Whiskey to win, all you need to do is message "20 win Oscar Whiskey" and Paddy Power will send you back a confirmation instantly. It's strand that they don't stream live horse racing from racetracks in the United States since there are already free apps that broadcast U.S. horse racing. Surely they could buy the broadcasting rights for U.S. horse racing cheaply if these apps offer live racing for free.
