OK, so I don't have a Visa, MasterCard or an American Express credit card but I would still like to play the odd casino game or place a few bets during the upcoming European Championships. Is there a way that I can easily fund some of these accounts without having to sign-up for a Credit Card. I do have a bank account.

    Thanks in advance

I don't know if you're a fan of mobile poker or casino games, but if you are then you can make deposits to your account from your phone bill at mFortune. mFortune offer a pretty wide range of casinos apps for iPhones, Blackberrys, Androids and even Symbians. They also have a pretty decent Texas Holdem app.

Anyway, they are the only mobile gambling company that I have come across that allow their players transfer funds via their phone account. You basically specify the amount that you would like to deposit into your account and mFortune will charge that amount to your phone bill. All the big phone networks participate, including Orange, O2, Vodafone and T-Mobile. I know you can use this service in the United Kingdom but I'm not sure where else it works. Probably best to contact their customer support to find out about your own area. Enjoy!!

Have you tried Ukash? I think that is the easiest way to deposit money online if you don't have a credit card. There are almost half a million Ukash agents around the world in various petrol stations, ATMs, corner stops, newsagents, kiosks and post offices so they're pretty easy to find wherever you are. One you find an agent with the Ukash or PayPoint sign outside you just hand over cash in exchange for a Ukash voucher. You can then use this voucher to deposit money using the code on the Ukash voucher.

If you are concerned that you may run up a massive Credit Card bill then Ukash is a pretty good alternative.

If you have a bank account you could use INSTADEBIT to transfer money to and from most mobile sportsbooks and casinos. INSTADEBIT acts kinda like an intermediary between your bank and the betting company. Once you've set-up an account you can transfer money from your bank account to most online gaming companies but they never get to see your personal banking details. Transfer of funds is pretty instantaneous.

I've used electronic checks in the past to transfer money directly from my bank account to certain poker rooms. Found them pretty easy to use and the money was deposited almost instantaneously. I think e-cheques may only be available in the United States and Canada though.

You could try PayPal. Just about everyone has a PayPal account so you could just ask a friend to transfer some money to your PayPal account and then use that to fund your betting accounts.

I find the UseMyFunds banking service pretty good for depositing money into my account. It works with your existing online banking service and there is no need to download or install any any new program on your phone or PC. When you are depositing money you just select UseMyFunds and when it actually gets to the payment page you transfer to your online banking service and the money is deposited instantly.

I just use my Laser bank card to transfer money to 888 poker. These type of bank cards are available in the Republic of Ireland but I'm not sure where else.

Paddy Power offer a "Pay By Mobile" service in the United Kingdom. Basically you you select PayByMobile as your deposit option and then Paddy Power will send a confirmation code to your phone. You then enter that deposit code into the deposit form on the PaddyPower website and your account is credit with the amount you specified.

If I walk into my local high street bookmakers can I lodge money into my online account there? That would seem like a great way avoid any charges and they are everywhere in the United Kingdom.

    I don't think it is possible to do this. I guess it would be a useful way to save on banking charges but it also kinda defeats the purpose of mobile betting.;

Some of the larger bookmakers offer Christmas vouchers that you can purchase in their betting shops as presents. Might make a nice Xmas present for a loved one.

I think PayPal charge 2.9% of the total transaction if you are using a credit or debit car.

Many European mobile bookmakers, casinos and poker rooms do not charge their customers anything to make a deposit using PayPal. The downside is they often only allow players from
Austria, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Sweden or the United Kingdom to make deposits using PayPal.

Most online bookmakers, poker rooms and casinos allow users to transfer funds from their accounts to friends. If you have already have a friend using a particular betting app they can generally just transfer cash to your username instantaneously.

It should also be noted that some mobile poker sites are now accepting Bitcoin for deposit and withdrawals. If you accept Bitcoin for payment of services, you could then use them to fund your online or mobile gambling accounts.

Bitcoin is a godsend for anyone living in the United States that want to wager on their favorite basketball team or place some poker on their iPad. First of all the crypto-currency is completely anonymous so you can be 100% sure that you will never be prosecuted for online gambling in the US. Another huge benefit is you can cash-out instantly. Normally US sports betting or poker players need to have a cheque mailed to them, which can take time.

Bitcoin is great but you also really need to be careful that you are dealing with a reputable gambling company because if they decide to keep your money there is very little you can do about it. There is no bank or credit card company you can phone to cancel the transaction or complain to.

SealsWithClubs, who were the biggest Bitcoin mobile poker site, were forced to shutdown because of an issue with "operational security".
