For anyone knew to horse race betting, rebates are when you get a percentage of your wagers back into your account. Typically racebooks offer daily rebates, which means you will receive a percentage refund on your previous days bets. Here are our two favourite options but we'd love to hear yours.

BETONLINE USA MOBILE RACEBOOK - WWW.BETONLINE.AG

The BetOnline horse racing bookmaker app is a little more basic but it does allow US citizens to bet on racing from their smartphones. Punters who bet via their website or web-app are entitled to a daily rebate of up to 7%, which is quiet generous. If you place your bets over the telephone you are only entitled to a 4% rebate.

The BetOnline app is browser based so you won't need to install an app on your iPhone or Android and it's compatible with virtually every type of phone. >> Read BetOnline Mobile Racing Review

Over the years I've used most of the major UK bookies like Ladbrokes and William Hill yet I never remember receiving a rebate. Am I wrong? Why do only US sportsbooks offer rebates?

No, I don't think any of the major European based bookmakers like William Hill or Ladbrokes offer any kind of a daily or weekly rebate on horse racing bets. I doubt there is any legal impediment to them offering a rebate so I guess it is purely cultural. US sportsbooks obviously offer their bettors a percentage refund on their previous days wagers because they've found this to be a profitable way to encourage to keep to bet regularly.

perhaps rebates are not legal in europe because they could be seen as encouraging gambling.

Does anyone know why Draft Kings are allowed to operate a legal gambling service in the United States?

Yes. Draftking (and also FanDuel) are two US based fantasy mobile gambling that operate in a legal grey area. Picking a team and entering a draft competition has always been legal in the United States but these competitions usually lasted the entirety of the season. This new generation of fantasy sports betting companies have used this loophole to offer daily draft picks. South Carolina and New York are the first two states to try the ban this form of mobile gambling.
