The Barclays Premier League football season has kicked off again. The favourite to win the title this year are Chelsea at 11/8 followed by Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and of course Liverpool. The mark the start of this years championship we thought we'd look at the best soccer/football betting apps for the Premier League. Here are a few of our favourites but we'd also love to hear you suggestions.

    OLBG BETTING TIPS - WWW.OLBG.COM

OLBG (Online Betting Guide) is an online betting community made up of thousands of expert gamblers. They recently released an iPhone and Android app that is completely free to download and use. Here are a few of the features that we really like.
    • See detailed comments and tips from expert tipsters.
    • Tipster ranking so you can see how often their picks win.
    • Football tips broken into major leagues from the UK, European Cups, Scottish, Major European, Scandinavian, American & Asian.
    • Free advice also offered on horse racing, boxing, cricket, golf, motor racing, rugby, snooker, tennis and many other sports.

    PADDY POWER FOOTBALL - WWW.PADDYPOWER.COM

Even though Paddy Power are an Irish company, we feel they've produced the best English Premier League betting app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy, HTC One, LG and Google Nexus.
    • PaddyPower is the only app that you can customise to display information on your favourite team. So for instance, if you set "Tottenham Hotspurs" to be your team of choice, the app will display all their latest news, stats and results.
    • Paddy Power's rapid growth and success has been driven largely driven by their money-back specials and betting promotions. They run better football betting offers and enhanced betting odds deals than any other bookmaker.
    • The coupons section of their app lets you quickly and easily create football pools and accumulators.

OFFICIAL PREMIER LEAGUE APP - WWW.BARCLAYSFOOTBALL.COM/FOOTBALL-APP/

Before we place a bet, we always do as much research on a team as possible. If you want to see how a team has been performing recently then the official English Permier League app for iPhone and Android is the best place to start.
    • Get the latest scores and results.
    • Details of all upcoming games and team fixtures.
    • Latest Premier league news stores and club transfer details.

If you want to watch the games without paying for a full Sky Sports subscription package, the Sky Mobile TV app is pretty good http://forums.iphonebettingapps.com/showthread.php?577-Top-English-Premier-League-Betting-Apps

For £4.99 / €5.99 (no contract) you get Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2. Besides the Barclays Premier League, you can also watch live matches from the UEFA Champions League and the Scottish Premiership on your iPhone/iPad.

Most of the time the quality of the picture is OK although I've noticed that it freezes sometimes during big games involving Manchester United/City, Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea etc.

This new Tipday fooball tipping app is also quiet useful if you want to check what other punters are thinking before you place a bet. The app is free on iOS and Android and it utilizes the combed betting knowledge of all its users. You can see at a glance how many tips have been placed on each game and whether people are predicting a Win, Lose of Draw. Besides the Barclays Premier League games, you can also get tips on the Scottish Premier League, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga and Spanish La Liga fixtures. Tips on basketball and rugby games are also available.

I like the way that Oddschecker compare the odds for about 25 bookmakers on popular betting categories like Premier League Winner, Relegation, Top Goalscorer, Next Manager to Leave, Player of the Year etc.

Bet365 offer a cash-out option via their app that allows you to close a bet early during the game. The amount you can take out could be more or less than your original stake depending on how your team is performing. For example, if you've bet £10 on Liverpool to beat Manchester United but they go a goal down after 10 minutes, you might be able to cash out for £5 to minimise your losses. Alternatively, if Liverpool are in the the lead but look like they are going to concede the goal then you might also like to take a fraction of your potential winnings before the final whistle blows.

Our Bet365 Mobile Cash Out page gives a little more details on the various features, as well as download and install instructions.

If you want to watch a repeat of Match Of The Day, the BBC iPlayer app is a must.

The BBC iPlayer app also lets you watch any of the BBC channels live on your phone, which may also come in handy for major sporting occasions.

ITV also have a player for iOS and Android. They currently share the broadcasting rights for UEFA Europa League, World Cups (up until 2022), the FA Cup and the 2016 European Championship from France.

My favourite premier league app is the "EPL Live" app from sportsmate. The app is free for both iPhone and Android and offers all the usual stuff you would expect to find like live scores, news videos and tables. It's the best football app I've come across for statistics on players, individual games or for the season. While the English Premier League is the primary focus you can also view fixtures, get text commentary and analysis on the FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League and Capital One Cup.

Anyone who already has a Sky TV subscription would be mad not to download the free Sky Go app for iOS and Android. https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/sky-go/id446086440?mt=8

The app lets any Sky customers watch all of the Sky Sports channels live so you never need to miss another Everton, West Ham or Aston Villa game again.

William Hill and Coral both have Apple Watch app that will provide you with the latest scores for games and you can place a bet if you like.

Most of the major sports apps like theScore, ESPN and Forza Football are compatible with the Apple Watch. You can configure the iWatch so that you receive push notifications when your favourite English Premier Team scores etc.

can sports fans in the united states bet on the premier league using the draftkings or fanduel app?

Yes both betting sites run fantasy soccer betting competitions. For instance, with DraftKings you need to pick 11 players with a fixed salary cap of $50,000. You can include players from the English Premier League, Major League Soccer (MLS) and UEFA Champions League.

I don't think the BBC own the rights to broadcast Premier League game any more. You can however watch the BBC's Match Of The Day highlights program where you'll see all the best goals from the week in English soccer.

If you are a fan of fantasy daily sports betting both the FanDuel and DraftKings apps can be downloaded from Google Play and the UK version of the iTunes App Store. They will be running betting competitions throughout the English Premier League this year.
