If you are a fan of gaelic football and hurling and you are unable to watch the matches abroad, you'll be glad to know that a new live streaming and on-demand service has launched that will broadcast games to phones, tablets, PC's and Smart TV's. The new service is a joint effort by RTE and the GAA.

A years subscription to the streaming service will set you back about €160. You will then be able to watch over 100 games live or on demand at a time that suits you. Watch games from the Championship, Minors, Under 21s and clubs. Prematch previews, analysis and The Sunday Game will also be available.

The GAA GO app is browser based so it will work on any iPhone, iPad, Windows Phone or Android (Samsung Galaxy, Motorola, HTC, Sony Xperia, Google Nexus etc.).

I live in Ireland so I wouldn't need to the full season pass but I'm occasionally out of the country on holidays or business and hate missing big matches between teams like Kerry and Cork or Kilkeeny and Tipperary. Is there anyway that I can pay to watch a single football or hurling game?

Yes, you can buy a Day Pass that will let you watch individual games but it'll set you back €10/€14 per game. You can also buy a pass watch to let you watch The Sunday Game for €10/€14 also. If you live in the United Kingdom you won't be able to watch either the All Ireland Semi-Finals or All Ireland Finals via the app because Sky Sports own the broadcasting rights in the UK.

They've also added a "Gifting" section to the main menu that will allow you to buy a season pass and send it to someone as a gift. I think this would be a wonderful present for any elderly relatives living outside of Ireland.

No unfortunately you can't purchase half a season. If you aren't confident that your team will progress to at least the semi's perhaps you should just pay for individual games. Or you could buy a season ticket and then sell it on later if your county gets knocked out of the either the hurling or football championships.

I watch Gaelic games in the US for free using the Amazon Fire stick and an app called Kodi.
