New report reveals that Bet365 Mobile is the most used bookmaker app in the UK

    New research published this week revealed that 4.3% of iPhone owners in the United Kingdom use at least one mobile betting app. Here are the main findings of the Onava report
    • The most popular sports betting apps in the United Kingdom at present is William Hill with 38% of the active users.
    • They are closely followed by Paddy Power who are on 32%.
    • In third place online bookmakers Bet365 who have a 24% marketshare

    Even though the two high-street bookmakers, Paddy Power and William Hill, have more active users, the survey reveals that the Bet365 app is the most used of the 3. Bet365 users use their app on average 6 days a month, almost double the usage rate of the other mobile sportsbooks.

    There are now approximately 9 million iPhone owners in the United Kingdom, which means almost 400,000 Brits now use some type of iOS sports betting app.

    The ability to watch live sports for free on my iPhone or iPad with the Bet365 app is what keeps me coming back. In last couple of months I've watched the Wimbledon Tennis Championship and the NBA playoffs on my phone via the Bet365 app. Paddy Power offer better live video of horse racing but for sports Bet365 is definitley streets ahead.

    I agree, free live sporting streaming is a huge advantage Bet365 have over their competitors. I tend to use Paddy Power when they're running good money back specials but the rest of the time I tend to stick with the Bet365 app. I do think the William Hill app is the best looking of the 3 though. The colour scheme works really well in my opinion.

    There is no denying that Bet365 live stream more sports every week than any other mobile bookie. However, they are no longer the only iPhone or and Android betting app to show games live. Ladbrokes customers can now also watch NBA basketball games from the United States on their phones. They also stream major international soccer matches for free and you can watch fixtures from the biggest football leagues in France, Spain, Italy, Australia, Brazil, Mexico and many other countries.

    Unibet, Sky Bet and Ladbrokes now all live stream sports to smartphones in an effort to keep pace with Bet365. In our opinion Bet365 still stream more live sports events from around the world than any of their competitors. In addition to those soccer leagues above, you can also watch Champions League Qualifiers, Russian Premier League, Chinese Super League and games from Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru and every other Latin American country.

    Bet365 also have a complete archive of horse racing going back years that you can watch for free. I love watching replays of major English or Irish races so this is a great free service in my opinion.

    I've started to use the mobile alerts quiet a bit on my iPhone for the English Premier League. I've setup the app to send me notifications whenever Manchester united score a goal, make a substitution, get awarded a penalty etc.

    The advantage that Bet365 have is that they are solely an internet bookmaker so all of their resources and effort goes into offering the best possible online and mobile sports betting solution. Ladbrokes and William Hill have hundreds of betting shops to manage which means that they can't dedicated as much time and money into developing gaming apps. For this reason I think Bet365 have the edge over their competitors when it comes to mobile gambling.

    I'm really surprised that there isn't a Bet365 Apple Watch app yet. Strange considering how innovative they normally are when it comes to mobile gambling.

    I think Bet365 were wise not to develop an Apple Watch app. Most of the bookies like Coral that developed bookie Apple Watch software need up dropping the apps after. Bet365 were smart to wait and see whether people would use the Apple Watch for gambling first. It seems they didn't.
