Will Apple ever allow real money Blackjack, Roulette or Slots games in the App Store?

Here is what I can't understand, why do Apple seem to have such a vendetta against mobile casino games when they are quiet happy to allow sports betting and poker apps into the App Store? Why do Apple make the judgement that one type of mobile gambling is acceptable and can be included in their sacred App Store and deem other types of mobile gambling, like Blackjack or Roulette, unfit to occupy space on its hallowed turf.

I like to play the odd game of slots or roulette on my iPhone or iPad (via mobile apps). Over the course of a month I would never gamble more than £50. For me it's just a mindless way to reduce stress for an hour or two when I need to. Now I'm sure many of the people who use the Paddy Power sports betting app lose a lot more money than me over the same time period. I'm sure the same goes for many people playing mobile poker on the Bwin app. I just don't understand why Apple feel that people who play mobile poker or place the odd sports bet can be trusted, while those of us who'd like to play the casino games on the iPhone are some kind of degenerate gamblers?

Sorry for the rant but I just don't understand the discrimination against casino players. I love Apple products so I'd love to know what the logic is behind their thinking here?

Hey Mike, you'll be glad to hear Apple have finally approved a couple of real money slots and blackjack apps. You can find these 32Red casino games in the App Store now. You can read this post for further details.

I think it has been easier to get sportsbooks and poker apps approved because there is a level of skill involved in placing sports bets or playing texas hold'em. Casinos games are generally thought of as being games of pure luck.

Yes, 888 have recently managed to get a range of real money roulette apps into the UK App Store. When the Bwin poker app was originally launched it could only be found in the App Store in the United Kingdom and Austria. Within year it could be found in an additional 16 European countries. Hopefully something similar will happen with these new 888 roulette apps.

Noob question here: is it because of the laws being different in one state/country over another that they're holding off with gambling apps?

Yeah I think so, it's a legal minefield at the moment. Apple are generally pretty cautious when it comes to this type of thing.

hey sally, thanks for the reply. i agree, Apple's one of those conscientious or in the least scrupulous companies especially when it comes to the law. although in terms of leveraging against android i think they should be more aggressive in this area -joe

A range of brand new mobile casino games have been developed for United States players who have up until now been unable to play real-money casino games like slots, roulette or blackjack on their Android or iOS phones or tablets. Drake Casino is the first cash game mobile casino to accept players from the U.S.

It's great that a U.S. facing online casino is finally offering some HTML5 casino games for US gamers. The market is so big in the States that it's bound to be a huge success. Hopefully the selection of games will grow to include baccarat, craps and keno also.

I think it's only a matter of time at this stage as more and more states like New Jersey and Nevada begin to legalize online gambling. Both the 888 and PartyPoker apps are now available in the Apple App Store providing you are based in New Jersey. Other States are sure to follow when they say how much revenue these states are making from sports betting, poker and casino games. http://forums.iphonebettingapps.com...ilable-in-New-Jersey-in-the-U-S-(iPhone-iPad)

Although some states in the US have begun the process of legalizing online gambling, it's probably still going to take years and it's going to be very fragmented. Poker players in the New Jersey are already reporting problems activating their desktop and smartphone apps due to poor WiFi signals. The poker rooms have responded by sending them free dongles that slot into the USB port in order to boost their WiFi signal to fix the problem.

While all this is happening a whole range of HTML5 poker and casino games are being released that can easily played anywhere in the US and you don't even need to install any software. Unless the legislators act soon and legalize online gambling throughout the USA, the market will be saturated by off shore gambling companies in a couple of years and it will be too late.

Online gambling companies who apply for permits in US states like New Jersey also have to pay a high rate of tax for the privilege of operating legally. This taxes will affect their bottom line so they will not be able to offer the same type of odds, free bets, promotions and offers that offshore gambling companies will be able to provide for their players.

That certainly seems to be the case in Italy where regulated poker in on the decline. Poker revenue in January 2014 was 20% lower than in January 2013 and a staggering 50% down on January 2014.

Many poker rooms went down the regulated route because they had to in order to get their apps listed in the iTunes App Store. That is no longer necessary because new web apps are springing up every couple of months that can be played from browsers including USA mobile poker games that accept real money players.

What about free bets? Do any of these U.S. casinos offer new players no deposit bonuses?

Yes, CarbonCasino do offer every new and existing player a free $25 when they place their first casino bet from a mobile devices. The downside is you need to use the free bet as a single wager so you can't place 25 X $1 wagers.

Will there be a separate app store for the Apple Watch?

I presume it will work in the same way as it currently does with the iPad and iPhone. You will still login to the iTunes App store but only certain apps will be downloadable depending on whether you are using a phone, tablet or wearable device.
