Anyone tried the new Horse Races Now app for U.S. horse racing?

As a U.S. racing fan I've always been a bit miffed that we didn't have a really good horse racing apps similar to the one offered by The Racing Post. Well things might be about to change thanks to the launch of a new horse racing apps called "Horse Races Now" that has a United States racing focus.

I've only been using the app for a few hours but I'm pretty impressed so far. Here are a few of the features that I'm really digging...
    • Instant results and payout date delivered to your phone instantly
    • Live streaming from 22 racecourses around the U.S. and more to follow
    • Set-up alerts that will notify you when your favourite horse, trainer or jockey is racing. I really love this feature, it made me $70 already today
    • Detailed racecards on all upcoming racecards
Anyway, the app is free to download for a limited time for anyone that wants to give it a try.

BTW, if there are any other good U.S. horse racing apps that you can recommend, please let me know!!

Yes, I've just taken a look at it now and I must say it's pretty impressive. I think the navigation would be improved a little but it's the most comprehensive United States horse racing app I've come across so far.

I downloaded the free "Preview" version. Hopefully the paid version will come in under $10 a month. I doubt many people will pay more than that, particularly when they don't have live video from every U.S. racetrack yet.

It's a really nice app. The Live Video and Race Replays work great. I was hoping they'd have a replay yesterdays Kentucky Derby but they don't seem to stream Churchill Downs yet.

They do offer live streams and horse race replays from these racetracks - Betfair Hollywood Park, Beulah Park, Charles Town, Canterbury Park, Delaware Park, Finger Lakes, Delta Downs, Ellis Park, Keeneland, Kentucky Downs, Hawthorne Race Course, Lone Star Park, Penn National, Remington Park, Tampa Bay Downs Turfway Park, Sam Houston Race Park and Zia Park.

For a new app I think that's a pretty good list of race courses to begin with.

You are right, Roger, Churchill is not a participating track yet. Feel free to contact them to let them know you want them to. Our goal is to increase the fan base for racing, which will only help the sport as a whole.

We are constantly working to add new tracks and to make HorseRacesNOW more user friendly. We listen to the feedback you give us, and a new version is coming out soon. Workouts will be available in upcoming versions, and an easier to find wagering button.

Go to www.horseracesnow.com to read all about it, and select "get app now" in order to be taken to the iTunes store. And don't forget to rate us with lots of stars! :)

They've also just added Indiana Downs to their list of participating horse racing tracks :)

Yes, it's an awesome app considering it's free. Hopefully it will remain that way. Here is a video for anyone not familiar with the app.

It's great but it's a shame you can't watch the big races like the Kentucky Derby with it.

It really is a quality app but I'm wondering for how much longer will it remain free. I presume they'll need to start charging a subscription for it shortly. All those live streams of races and video replays use up bandwidth which isn't cheap.

Another free app from America's Best Racing is now available for anyone that wants to watch repeats of US horse races. Repeats are available to watch minutes after the finished and there is a searchable database of races dating back to 2010. Detailed results charts are provided with each video to provide a wide range of additional information.

The America's Best Racing app can be downloaded for free from the iTunes App Store and Google Play.

The name of the "America's Best Racing" app has been changed back to the Equibase Racing Yearbook. It's still available in both the Apple and Google app stores.
