More and more online bookmakers are adding Bitcoin to their list of banking options. This is a positive step for sports bettors who are tired of paying excessively high credit card fees. It is also now possible for United States based sports fans to bet anonymously using Bitcoin in order to avoid any legal complications. Most Bitcoin sportsbooks will also process your withdrawals within a few hours, which is a huge improvement compared to the waiting times when you use conventional banking options. In light of these benefits, we've been putting together a list of the best bitcoin mobile bookies for iPhone, iPad, Android or Windows Phone.

In our opinion these are the best bitcoin friendly mobile bookmakers but we'd love to hear your recommendations too.

so if I sign-up with one of these bitcoin bookmakers, will I be able to place a bet without having to provide a copy of my passport, US drivers license or utility bills?

BetOnline is a conventional online sportsbook that have added Bitcoin to their list of banking options so they may ask you to provide some proof of identity before they allow you to withdraw your money.

Bitcoin-only bookmakers like BetCoin and CloudBet are anonymous and will never ask you to reveal your identity when you sign-up or request a payout.

Do any of the bitcoin internet betting sites offer free bet offers for new players? How do their promotions and offers compare to regular online bookmakers like Paddy Power or William Hill?

I don't think any of the bitcoin-only bookmakers offer free bets, however, they do run first deposit bonuses. For instance, when you make your first deposit with the CloudBet sports betting site, they will match it up to 5 BTC. The downside is this bonus is only released in increments depending on how often you wager. You do have 365 days to clear the entire bonus, which is quiet generous.

BetOnline are a regular online sportsbook that now accepts bitcoin. BetOnline offer their customers a free $50 free play when they place their first bet from a phone or tablet. Free Plays are essentially free bets as they'll refund your account if your first mobile wager loses.

I only have the occasional bet on major sports events like the NFL Super Bowl or on the baseball World Series so bitcoin looks attractive to me because I can sign-up and withdraw easily without the hassle associated with off-shore sportsbooks. My problem is I don't know where to buy bitcoin in the United States? Also the number of bitcoin wallets is kind of overwhelming. Can someone give me some advice on where I should start?

Buying bitcoin and setting up a wallet is surprisingly easy. To get started I would recommend this guide https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started

Since you live in the United States you will have no problem finding an exchange to buy bitcoin, there are even bitcoin ATM's in some U.S. cities.

There is a bit of a learning curve initially but once you're set-up it's surprising easy. Most bitcoin wallets these days have very user friendly.

are there any bitcoin betting exchanges like betfair?

No, right now all the bitcoin sports betting sites are regular bookmakers rather than betting exchanges. In order to operate a betting exchange you need to have a high volume of customers who can bet against each other. Right now bitcoin sportsbooks are in their infancy so they simply wouldn't have enough punters to operate a betting exchange.

  10. Most of the online gambling to do revolves around horse racing, particularly big meetings like Cheltenham Festival or major races like Grand National. Do any of these bitcoin bookies cover horse race betting yet? And if so, how do the odds compare to sportsbooks like Ladbrokes and William Hill?

i highly recommend betonline if you want to do some bitcoin gambling. i've been using them for about 6 years without a problem. the website and app could do with a redesign but overall the customer service is excellent and they usually process withdrawals within a few days.

  12. if i decide to create an account with betconline and make a bitcoin deposit do i still need to go through all that kyc bullshit before i can place a bet or make a withdrawal?

No. There is no Know Your Customer nonsense with any of the bitcoin only betting sites like Nitorgen Sports, BetOnline or CloudBet. To withdraw from BetCoin you just need to confirm the withdrawal from your registered email address and the bitcoin is usually in your wallet an hour or two after that.

More and more conventional U.S. online sportsbooks now accept bitcoin. Last year betonline added bitcoin as a cashier option and now Bovada welcomes bitcoin deposits.

If you deposit with bitcoin at BetOnline they will charge you the same 6.5% that they charge Visa and Mastercard depositors. They will hit you with an additional 2% to process a btc payout so we recommend that you avoid BetOnline. Bovada process both withdrawals and deposits free of charge so we recommend you wager there if you are looking for a bitcoin friendly traditional bookmaker. http://www.iphonebettingapps.com/bovada-mobile-us.html

Nitrogen Sports are offering an NFL free bet offer that will run the length of the American Football season. Basically you just need to place 8 parlays bets on the NFL and they will give you a matching free bet up to 0.01 BTC.

  17. are cloudbet, betcoin or any of the other btc bookies offering free bets for college football or nfl games?

As a general rule, sportsbooks that allow you to create anonymous BTC betting account like CloudBet and Nitrogen do not offer huge bonuses because players can create multiple accounts. However, for the duration of the 2016/2017 American Football season, Nitrogen Sports are running a free bet parlay offer for bets on the NFL.
