The Australian government have been pretty proactive when it comes to restricting the access of gambling apps to their citizens. We reported a few months back that the Australian government forced Apple to remove the PokerStars and 888 poker apps from the iTunes App Store because they weren't fully licensed. The Australian Herald Sun has now revealed that the South Australian government have come to an agreement with Apple to classify real money or simulated gambling apps on iPhone so that they can't be downloaded and played by minors. According to Jay Weatherill, the South Australian State Government’s Premier, the new regulations were necessary because research shows that children who are exposed to gambling like games are more likely to develop addictions and gambling problems at a later age.
Sports bettors in Australia can now place in-play bets from iPhone and Android bookmaker apps following a recent court cases. Live in-play betting is available via a "Call" button that contacts the bookmakers and allows sports bettors to enter in the stake via the keypad to automatically place a bet.

This is a good move by the Australian government. Actually even without being ask it is the responsibility of apple to classified all of the apps in the apps store. I think android already classified all of their apps at play store.
