PKR HAS CLOSE - VISIT OUR POKER SECTION FOR UPDATES Back in April PKR became the first real money poker room to release a 3D dimensional poker app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Unfortunately, for many month the app was only available from the United Kingdom app store so most PKR fans were not able to enjoy playing Texas Hold'em cash games on their mobile device. Thankfully things are starting to improve and the PKR iOS has been approved in the iTunes App Stores in the Netherlands, Republic of Ireland and Sweden. To celebrate the occasion, PKR are giving new players a $5 no deposit instant bonus. You don't need to deposit any funds or hand over your Visa or MasterCard details. All PKR are asking is that you sign-up and you can can play at the real money tables for free. No strings attached.
I use an iPhone 5 but I also have an Android tablet. Is the Android version restricted to the Irish, British, Dutch and Swedish also or can I play it in Australia?
You can play the Android version in any country that you can play the regular online version, which is basically everywhere except the United States. The PKR Android apk file is downloaded directly from their website so you can play it in Russian, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, France, Ukraine, Portugal, Germany or any other European, Asian or South American country you can think of.
Here is a video of the PKR Mobile Apps for Android, iPhone and iPad in action. You can get a $5 instant no deposit bonus when you download PKR mobile so you've got nothing to lose. Watch the video below to see the most advanced Texas Hold'em and Omaha app in action.
We are glad to confirm that PKR for iPhone and iPad is now free to download from the iTunes App store in UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Italy and the Netherlands.
I just checked their help section and it appears the PKR haven't made their app available in any other countries over the past few month. Does this mean that it will never be available in Australia, Canada, Russia etc?
Getting a native gambling app approved by Apple in a particular is a complicated and drawn out process so I wouldn't give up hope on the PKR for iPhone/iPad. It's an excellent app which has cost a lot to develop so you can be sure that they're working to make it available in all the same countries as their PC and Mac desktop client.
PKR have recently released a 2D version poker their poker app that offers exactly the same features but with much simpler graphics. This is a godsend for anyone that just wants to be able to play Texas Hold'em cash games and tournaments without the intrusive video game graphics. Because of the enormous file size of their 3D version, it was always going to be impossible to offer a browser based version. Following the arrival of the scaled down 2D version, a PKR no download web app might finally be on the horizon. The biggest advantage of an PKR "Instant Play" poker app is that it would be available in far more countries since it wouldn't require Apple's approval.
it sucks that apple ios users from a handful of countries can play on their iphone or ipad, while android owners can play from pretty much anywhere. they need to develop a html5 version of their 2d app that can be played from any browser.
I have a feeling that the 2D native poker app is PKR's first step towards developing a web-app version that is compatible with the Safari browser of any iPhone and iPad (and possibly Windows Phone devices). Due to the relatively slow speed of most phone networks, it simply wouldn't be possible to develop a browser based version of their 3-D poker app but poker sites like 888 and PartyPoker have proven that you can develop 2D HTML5 app that plays just great from any phones browser. PKR are a ambitious poker room who won't be happy with just having their iOS software available in 5 or 6 countries. I predict that in 2015 we will see an Instant Play version too that will work on any device and in any country.
Good news for mobile poker players at PKR. They've now moved to the Microgaming Poker Network, which has 7 times more traffic. This means more action at all levels and bigger tournaments guarantees. I read an article recently that said the founder of PKR has now moved onto blockchain casino games and has launched an Ethereum ICO.
