I could be wrong but it seems that none of these poker apps allow players to take part in freeroll tournaments. I know that some of these poker rooms run regular freerolls but you need to download the main poker client to take part in the tourneys? I think this is a major drawback of the existing poker apps. I don't have a huge amount of disposable income to play at real money rooms so I rely on freerolls quiet a bit. If someone developed an iphone poker app that allowed players take part in tournaments then I would happily sign-up.
UPDATE DECEMBER 2018 A number of iOS and Android poker apps now regularly run freeroll tournaments. Here are out top two picks USA FREEROLLS: WWW.BETONLINE.AG BetOnline is available in the USA, Europe, Asia, Canada and Latin America. We like the BetOnline poker app because it offers identical functionality to their PC and Mac clients. Whatever tournaments, including free rolls, are available from the main client can also be found on the BetOnline poker app. There is a $10,000 new player freeroll every month in addition to daily freeroll tournaments. >> BOVADA POKER APP REVIEW NON USA FREEROLLS: WWW.PARTYPOKER.COM Providing you don't live in the United States or Australia, you can take advantage of all the tournament action available at PartyPoker, including their legendary freerolls. They offer over $100,000 in freerolls every month and their iOS and Android app is awesome so check them out. >> PARTYPOKER APP REVIEW ======================================================= Hi cevans The good news is you are completely wrong. Terminal Poker have made a big update to their mobile poker client which allows mobile players to take part in all the daily freerolls offered to their online players. I think that is the only mobile client offering freerolls at present so I hope you like speed poker. Sebastian
You're right Sebastian, I was completely wrong When I played at Terminal Poker a few months back I wasn't able to take part in any kind of tournament from my iPad. They must have updated their iPad client recently. Thanks for letting me know.
Slightly off topic but do you know if their Android poker client also supports freeroll poker tournaments?
Terminal Poker have now also begun offering Multi Table poker tournaments from their mobile client on both the iPhone and iPad.
888 have released a brand new version of their iPhone and Android poker apps that also offers Multi Table Tournaments, as well as ring games and Sit and Go tournaments. Following the update they are now running a series of mobile free-rolls. Their $8 no deposit bonus means you can give the app a try for free.
PartyParty Mobile features both Sit & Go and Multi-Table tournaments. Freerolls are one of the MTT options you can select. You'll find install instructions for both iOS and Android devices here http://www.iphonebettingapps.com/partypoker-for-ios-and-android.html
