When the Apple Watch was launched back in early 2015, many expected it to be the hot new gadget for mobile sports betting and casino gaming. Online bookmakers like Ladbrokes, Unibet, William Hill and Coral rushed to develop apps that would allow you to check the odds and place bets from the Apple smartwatch. While Apple have not released any official figures, there can be little doubt that sales for the wearable devices have been lower than expected. The Apple Watch simply isn't as ubiquitous as the iPod, iPad and iPhone. As a result, bookmakers haven't experienced the influx of bets from the Apple Watch that they were expecting. The first casualty is Coral who no longer advertise Apple Watch betting on their iTunes page https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/coral-sports-betting-casino/id553287152?mt=8
Coral recently changed their entire mobile bookmaker for iOS so maybe it had something to do with that. The Coral app is completely different now.
Yes, you care right. PlayTech used to provide their iPhone and Apple Watch apps. Now they've decided to want to develop in-house for greater flexibility. It's telling that they haven't developed an Apple Watch app to replace the PlayTech one. Obviously not many of their customers were using the wearable app.
