When the Apple Watch was launched there was a flurry of activity as major internet sportsbooks like Ladbrokes, William Hill and Unibet launched their iWatch compatible software. Now that the dust has settled and we've had a chance to take a closer look at the various Apple Watch sports betting apps, we've come to the conclusion that UK bookmaker Coral have released the most feature rich Apple Watch compatible software. Here are just some of the features that are available right now... CORAL APPLE WATCH - WWW.CORAL.CO.UK Place a sports bet directly from the wearable device. Coral is uniquely the only Apple Watch betting app that supports cash out. You can close your wagers at any point and make an instant profit. Browse through popular live and upcoming sporting and horse racing events. The "My Bets" section that lets you check the status of all your current and historical bets. At launch the app offers a complete list of betting options on 8 of the most popular sports, including football, horse racing, tennis, basketball, hockey, rugby and baseball. View the latest betting promotions and enhanced betting odds from your Apple Watch. Receive customisable alerts to your iWatch to keep you up-to-date on all the latest scores and results. We think this is an incredible list of features to offer at launch and one that is sure to grow over the coming months.
No, you currently can't watch any kind of live sport on the Apple Watch and because of the short battery life I can't see this feature being added anytime soon. A five minute video would probably drain the entire battery. The good news is you can set-up alerts to let you know the results of particular horse races as soon as they've finished.
I have an account with Bet365 but they don't have an app for the Apple Watch yet. Even if I don't have an active account with Coral, can I still use the app to get results and notifications etc?
You don't need to have a funded account with Coral or William Hill to use their Apple Watch apps. Just quickly register without depositing any money and you can configure the Apple Watch app to send you notifications, live scores and betting promotions etc.
The good news is that Apple announced that developers will soon be able to create native Apple Watch betting apps for the wearable device. This means that you will be able to install bookmaker apps on the Apple Watch without needing an iPhone. Native app will be available in Watch OS 2.0.
Yes it looks like you will. When the original iPod came out it was only available if you owned a Mac. Eventually anyone with a PC was also able to use device. If Apple Watch sales are as weak as some people say then Apple will be eager to allow Android owners to use the Apple Watch too to boost sales.
i'm thinking about getting an apple watch for christmas. has anyone used any of these sports betting apps for the apple watch? would you recommend them?
I would recommend them if you're a big sports fan like me. My girlfriend used to complain a lot because I was continually looking at my iphone to check scores of games but now I can quickly glance at my watch to keep up-to-date. It's also great for cash outs because you can keep track of matches and horse races much easier.
No. None of the major US facing internet sportsbooks like Bovada and 5Dimes have yet to release software for the Apple Watch. Give how poor the web-apps are for many USA friendly bookmakers they are probably better off investing their time improving those first.
At the current time there are not. All the major UK and Australian bookmakers only supports Apple Watch. In the United States, DraftKings and FanDuel only offer apps for the Apple smartwatch.
