When Full Tilt Poker lost their gambling license last year I was pretty disappointed. Less than a month before they went under they had just released a version of their Rush Poker Mobile app for iOS devices. I only had a chance to play it for a couple of weeks before they went under but I really liked the app. It was fast paced and the tables were always busy. I was delighted to read this morning that PokerStars were in negotiations to buy Full Tilt Poker. I think this would be great news for mobile poker fans as I'm sure they would resurrect the Rush Poker iPad and iPhone apps. PokerStars are currently in talks with the U.S. Department of Justice on acquiring Full Tilt's assets according to the WSJ. I do find this a little strange considering the DOJ are currently preparing a case against PokerStars. Anyway, I hope they can come to some agreement because it would be a shame to see Full Tilt's mobile poker technology go to waste.
If the rumors are correct and PokerStars do buy Full Tilt Poker then I'm pretty sure that Rush Poker will be resurrected also. Rush Poker was a very strong and popular brand so PokerStars would be mad not to reintroduce it. Since you can't multitable on most poker apps the Rush Poker format was particularly well suited to mobile gaming because it was so fast paced. It kept even the most hardcore poker player engaged. You could also easily play a hundred hands at Rush Poker on your short commute home from work. This means more rake for poker rooms. Even if PokerStars don't buy Full Tilt, I really hope someone else steps in so Rush Poker Mobile isn't lost forever.
I don't really care if the Rush Poker Mobile app comes back or not as long as Full Tilt give me back the $200 they owe me
You sure Full Tilt Poker released a mobile poker app for iOS? I'm pretty sure the Rush Poker Mobile app was only for the Android OS.
Any update on the PokerStars/Full Tilt Poker takeover? Things seem to have gone a little quiet recently.
The former CEO of Full Tilt, Ray Bitar, was arrested by the U.S. feds. Surely this can't help Full Tilt's chances of being sold?
Now that PokerStars have bought Full Tilt and settled their dispute with the DOJ does anyone know when Full Tilt will be back in operation again? I think it must be a foregone conclusion that we will see the Rush Poker app returning in the near future.
I don't think restoring the Rush Poker Mobile app will be a high priority for PokerStars. The app was great when it was first released because we had nothing to compare it to. Things have changed over the past couple of years and there are now much better poker apps available today for both iOS and Android phones and tablet computers. I think Pokerstars will eventually relaunch the Full Tilt Rush Poker app but only after they've had a chance to revamp the app.
Full Tilt are open for business again but there is no mention anywhere on the site about a Rush Poker iOS or Android app
