Anybody who is familiar with Paddy Power's commercials in the UK will know that the Irish bookie likes to create a little controversy in order to garner some extra free publicity. Given that popular Australian bookmaker, SportsBet, were bought by Paddy Power a couple of years ago, it should come as no surprise that their television commercials are causing a stir down under.

The ad in question featured drugs cheat Ben Johnson to advertise their new "juiced up" Android app that "tested positive for speed and power" and "puts the roid in Android". As you might expect, this advertisement ruffled a few feathers in Australia with the federal government demanding it's removal and the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) even lodged a form complaint. The advertisement has now been banned by the Advertising Standards Bureau in Australia so we're not sure how much longer it will be available online. Take a look while you still can.

I think that is a justified move, to sustain the cleaner sports environment.
