As if there wasn't enough horse racing going one in the UK, U.S.A., South America, Germany, Dubai, Ireland and South Africa, I've noticed that both Paddy Power and William Hill apps are now offering virtual horse racing. I'm curious as to why people would bet on these races when there are so many actual horse races running every day?
How does virtual horse racing work? Is there some kind of form guide that you need to study or is it just completely random like playing roulette?
According to this Wikipedia entry, Virtual horse racing is a visual representation of a "computerised random numbers draw" so you're basically just playing roulette. The entry does point out though that some companies do offer more sophisticated types of virtual horse racing where the horses form and breeding play a part in how likely a particular horse is going to win a race.
