Despite the value of Bitcoin going up and down like a whores knickers over the past few months, both the Golden Gate and the D Casino in Las Vegas have begun accepting the digital currency as payment. The bad news is you won't be able to use Bitcoin on the gambling floor to play at the slots, blackjack, roulette or any of the games on offer. However, patrons of both casinos will be able to pay for their rooms, eat in the restaurants, buy souvenirs and more using Bitcoin. The benefit for the casino is that if their players use Bitcoin to pay for all the hospitality services on offer, it will free up regular dollars for gambling on the actual casino floor. It may also help some unlucky players pay their bills if they've lost everything playing poker. Sadly it looks like the virtual currency won't be accepted anytime soon for actual gambling due to reservations the Nevada Gaming Control Board have about the stability of the currency. Hopefully that will change overtime once the value stabilises a little and Bitcoin becomes more of a mainstream alternative to dollars, pounds and euros.
