In my part of the world the Kentucky Derby is the biggest horse race of the year and the most thrilling couple of minutes in my racing calendar. The race is held every year at the beginning of May at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. This years race takes place next Saturday (May 5th) so can anyone recommend a decent iPhone app to mark the occasion? I'm looking for an app that would provide an update to the minute list of runners and jockeys, Derby news, as well as live betting odds, a form guide and ideally some tips. Ooh, and it needs to be free also Any ideas?
Hey Jack Have you tried the official Churchill Downs app? It has plenty of information on all the Kentucky Derby contender but besides that is it pretty basic to be honest. There is a brand new app called Horse Races Now that is really good. It give detailed racecards with jockey, owner, trainer and odds information. They do offer live streaming from many racetracks in the U.S. but unfortunately they haven't been given access to Churchill Downs yet.
Thank you so much for the Horse Races Now tip. It's a great app, I just hope they don't charge too much for it once the free trial runs out. My money is going to be on Dullahan for the big race. I got him at 10/1 which is pretty good for one of the favorites. I have a sneaky suspicion that Union Rag or Gemologist may pip him at the post.
Hard luck yesterday Jack. I don't think anyone could have predicted I'll Have Another would win the Derby. It was a nice payday for anyone who had him at 15/1. Hope you had a place on Dullahan.
Don't worry, Jack. Our goal is to have LOTS of users, not to charge an arm and a leg. We want to increase the fan base for racing, which will benefit everyone. We haven't settled on a specific price, but it WILL be reasonable, and most likely subscription based. Tell everyone to go to www.horseracesnow.com to read all about it! Sue McPeek
Here are our picks for the best mobile apps for The Kentucky Derby this year. KENTUCKY DERBY OFFICIAL APP - WWW.KENTUCKYDERBY.COM This is the official app for the big race that is free to download for iPhone and iPad. The app offers betting info, detailed information on every horse, tickets, information on the racecourse and much more. BETONLINE RACING U.S. BETTING APP - WWW.BETONLINE.AG Most of the big european bookmaker apps allow users to bet on horse racing but unfortunately most of the United States betting apps don't. BetOnline is currently the only mobile bookmaker app for iOS, Android, Blackberry, Nokia and Windows that also offer a mobile racebook to their U.S. players.
I forgot to mention that Carbon also offer tons of props, daily match-ups and a 7% rebate as well as being the only mobile racebook for U.S. punters so they're the ideal app for Triple Crown bettors.
Both the iPhone and Android official "Derby Me" app are no longer available?? Can anyone recommend other apps for Kentucky Derby news, betting tips, live video, replays etc?
I wasn't able to find a decent Kentucky Derby app this year. Most of the supposedly "Free" apps just forwarded me to other websites that were charging money. Hopefully the organizers will release an app next year. Anyway, the next race coming up in the Triple Crown is the Preakness Stakes. This official app for Android is impressive https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mjc.preakness It features event schedules for the Pimlico racetrack, jockey profiles, news, entertainment information and stats on every horse in contention to win this years Preakness Stakes. When I try to download the iPhone version from iTunes it tells me the app no longer, exists which is strange. Does anyone know if there is a working version for iOS devices?
If you want to watch video replay of any Kentucky Derby race from 2010 onwards, you can do so instantly thanks to this new "American's Best Racing" app for Apple iOS and Google Android devices. The app is free to use and has an advanced search feature that makes it really easy to find a particular race http://forums.iphonebettingapps.com...streams-video-replays-of-every-U-S-horse-race
The Kentucky Derby 2015 takes place this Saturday. Any last minutes recommendations for good apps this year?
