The Irish bookmaker has recently released a free app to coincide with the start of the English Premier League. The app gives details of all the 2012 / 2013 fixtures, as well as results, league tables, top scorers and more. The app will also provide live scores and real time data on bookings, sendings-off, time of goal and goal scorers to make in-play betting easier. The new Paddy Power app can be customized to feature news, results and stats on your favourite soccer team. If you're not able to watch the game, you can even watch a live text feed commentary on every game.
It's a nice app but considering they're a bookmaker I though they'd have integrated the betting a little better. I should be able to place a bet from inside the app like I can do with the free Racing Post app. Instead it just redirects me to the Safari browser and I've got to login there. Other than that I think it's a pretty decent Barclays premier league app.
It should also be noted that the app includes some pretty cool game recognition software that will give you the latest betting odds on any Premiership match by just pointing your phones camera at the television.
Are Paddy Power every going to integrate the game recognition software into their main bookmaker app? I'd rather not have to use two different apps to place a bet. If the game identification feature works so great they should just add and allow you to find horse races also.
