I currently use the ESPN ScoreCenter app. It seems to cover most of the sports that I follow and the alerts feature works pretty good too. Any other good sports apps for stats, scores, fixtures and results that I should check out. It would need to cover a wide range of sports including NFL, NBA, Premiership Soccer, Formula 1 and Boxing.

I'm not a huge fan of the ESPN ScoreCenter. Maybe it's just on my iPhone but I often find that the ESPN ScoreCenter doesn't update that quickly. I often have to look elsewhere for scores to certain games which defeats the purpose of having an app like this.

I much prefer to use a free app called ScoreMobile. It's covers most U.S. sports pretty comprehensively - Baseball (MLB), Football (NFL, CFL, NCAA), Basketball (NBA, NCAA), Golf, Tennis etc. All the big soccer leagues are featured too like the Premier League in the UK, Serie A in Spain and La Liga in Italy.

What's great about the ScoreMobile app is that it's not all just about scores and result. You can also access betting odds, player statistics, league tablets and news stories.

I totally agree about the ESPN app. It's rubbish. Rarely refreshes which is very frustrating.

I've been having problems with the Sportacular app also. Has anyone else had problems with it? It used to be my favourite but now it just seems to take an age to update. I don't really see the point in updating a perfectly good app if you're only going to make it worse.

For football I only use one app and that's "THE Football App". https://itunes.apple.com/app/id407988122 I've tried a bunch of others but this stands head and shoulders above the rest for live scores, league tables, live videos, and upcoming fixtures. All the major football leagues are covered, including Bundesliga, Champions League, Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1 and World Cup Qualifiers. And it's free, which is amazing.

  8. What about cricket scores and results? In particular the big head-ups between England and Australia in The Ashes.

I have been using MyGolfStats and the GPS function works seamlessly between the hole entry and GPS screens with a single tap of a finger. The app really works fastly. I am waiting for the next weekend to play golf along with MyGolfStats with me.:)

Has anybody used the PaddyPower In-Play Facebook app? It's still only on trail in the United Kingdom so I haven't been able to use it yet. Since it's called In-Play I presume it offers live sports scores and results but what else does it do?

I live in the Republic of Ireland and I haven't been able to access the Paddy Power Facebook app either which is strange given that they're an Irish company.

PaddyPower have stated that they're currently only trialling their Facebook In-Play app in the United Kingdom so I presume they do plan to roll it out in every country once it has been fully tested. Even though Paddy Power are an Irish company, their biggest market is the UK which may explain why they are anxious to sign up Facebook users there first.

I would recommend this Bet365 bookmaker app for live scores and results. Their new "Match Live" feature doesn't just tell you the live score, it also give you real time stats on who has the most possession, most chances at scoring, most misses, most fouls, red cards etc. You can get a huge amount of information on football, soccer, basketball, hockey and many other sports on your iPhone, Windows Phone or Droid.
