Will Trump ban online gambling in New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware?

Online gambling operators in New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware are getting more than a little nervous about Donald Tump's nominee to the post of attorney general. Senator Jeff Sessions said he would review the Wire Act and possibly overturn the 2011 court decision that allows individual states to legalise online gambling within their boarders. In 2016, New Jersey's online gambling operations generated almost $400 million in revenue and some much needed tax revenue so the shutting down of online gambling across the U.S. would be very bad news.

Trump is familiar with gambling in New Jersey, having previously owned a bricks and mortar casino in Atlantic City. His campaign was also partly funded by Sheldon Adelson who has made his billions in the casino business. Adelson is no fan of online gambling because he sees it as a direct threat to his casino empire. It's still too early to tell how much influence Adelson will have on the Trump administrations position on online gambling.

Groups that represent gambling companies like PokerStars, 888 and PartyPoker have said that individual states and not the federal government should decide whether gambling is legal or not.

  2. Well it's to early to be worried since President Trump just assumed office. If their is one sector who would be affected is the online gambling sector. A lot of countries are starting to banned those online gambling site. Most of the online gambling site are off shore and you know President Trump he wants to bring back jobs to American people so better expect some changes in the coming days.

I think he has not done that as yet. And surely not going to happen what i believe.

Yes, I think he has enough on his plate with the trade war in China and the Muller investigation. I don't think banning online gambling is high on his priorities.
